Who Is Yung DSA?
Yung DSA is the stage name of Harsh Vijay Machare, a rapper from Yerwada in Pune, Maharashtra. He started rapping at 12, and for years made music on the side while working a regular job at a BPO. His lyrics keep coming back to Yerwada and Pune, and even after his breakthrough, his social media is mostly music, street culture and his city rather than a flashy lifestyle.
At the Bigg Boss 20 premiere, when he mentioned Yerwada, Salman Khan joked that he knew the area. Yung told the host he’d been mocked in the past and had chosen to answer through his music.

Inside the House: Yung DSA’s Bigg Boss 20, Week by Week
👑 First captain, first enemy
Two days in, Qazi Touqeer imitated Yung’s distinctive way of speaking. When Yung told him “Bhai mat ban”, Qazi shot back “Baap pe mat jaa”, and the fight turned to their fathers and families. The line echoed Bigg Boss 4’s famous Dolly Bindra and Manoj Tiwari row, which Salman had joked about at the premiere.
Days later, Yung won the season’s first captaincy, beating Aasif Khan and Gullu (Kushal Tanwar). As part of the task, the person he picked, Kanika Mann, lost a lifeline.
💔 The “maa” who played the game
Inside the house, Yung had grown close to Mahhi Vij. He called her “maa”. So when Mahhi competed against him in the week 2 captaincy race, while he was still captain, he took it as a betrayal. Mahhi said she was “just playing the game” and friendship didn’t stop her competing. Yung stopped talking to her.
It got worse. Yung later learned through Mary Kom that Mahhi didn’t consider him her own, and broke down in front of ScoutOP, Isha Rikhi and Aasif Khan.
There was lighter stuff too: a roast battle with Qazi full of “moongfali ka chhilka” and “kele ka chhilka” insults that had the house laughing.
⚠️ Hurt, nominated, and a near miss
In the week 3 captaincy task, Yung was sitting on the giant ball when Qazi tried to take it, and the struggle got physical. Yung was hurt, and several housemates called Qazi’s behaviour inappropriate. Gullu kept the captaincy.
Yung was then nominated alongside Isha Rikhi, and on Weekend Ka Vaar, Salman Khan pulled one of the season’s biggest fake-outs (below).
The Eviction Twist
Salman looked straight at Yung before revealing that Isha Rikhi was the one leaving. Yung reportedly had the most votes of the two. With Rohed Khan and Isha gone, 14 contestants remain, and he’s still one of them.

Yung DSA is the least polished contestant in a house full of TV actors, a boxer and a politician’s daughter, and that’s exactly why he works. His fights with Qazi are loud, but it’s the Mahhi fallout that showed who he is: someone who treats friendships as family, in a game that punishes that. He went from a BPO desk to Divine’s label on one song. Whether he goes from first captain to the finale depends on whether he can keep that heart without letting it get used against him.
