CBSE board exam 2027: expected dates
CBSE has kept a similar calendar for the last few years, and the 2026 exams began on 17 February. Based on that pattern, here is what to expect for 2027:
| Exam | Expected dates (2027) | What happened in 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Class 10 main exam (phase 1) | Mid-February to around 10 March | 17 Feb to 10–11 Mar 2026 |
| Class 12 exam | Mid-February to early April | 17 Feb to 9 Apr 2026 |
| Class 10 second exam (phase 2, optional) | Mid-May | 15 to 21 May 2026 |
| Class 12 practicals (winter-bound schools) | November to December 2026 | Nov–Dec 2025 |
| Class 12 practicals (other schools) | January to February 2027 | Jan–Feb 2026 |
| Class 10 phase 1 result | Mid-April | 16 Apr 2026 (93.70% passed) |
Exams usually start at 10:30 AM IST. The final date sheet is planned so that no student has two papers on the same day, with gaps between subjects that are commonly taken together.
